Committee Meetings ==== - Service Chair plans at least one committee meeting at the beginning of each semester to prepare for future events and to determine Service Hour requirements for the upcoming school year. - Service Chair plans any other necessary committee meetings. ==== Section 2. Signups ==== - Service Chair holds Signups for Service Events during New Business. - Service Chair creates a list of the available service events before General Meeting. - Service Chair puts the events in the Mu Beta Psi Google Calendar. - After signups, Service Chair creates separate Google Calendar invites for each event and adds each Brother participating. - If an event conflicts with General Meeting or there are not enough people to adequately cover the event, the Service Chair will notify the point of contact for said event. ==== Section 3. Calendar ==== - The Service Chair requires edit access to the Fraternity Google Calendar. - The Chair is responsible for creating relevant Google Calendar events, and inviting the appropriate individuals. ==== Section 4. Zeta Chapter Point of Contact ==== - Service Chair acts as the point of contact for the Rosza and other organizations we volunteer for. ===== Article II - Committee Responsibilities ===== ==== Section 1. Service Hour Requirement ==== - Service Committee decides on the amount of hours that will be required for each Brother to complete each semester. - The Service Hour Requirement must be proposed by the first Meeting after Lock-in, or the second General Meeting of the semester - Sales Chair shall be a part of this decision. - Hours are decided based on how many volunteer events are available and how many Brothers are active at the start of the semester. - The Brotherhood will vote in the determined amount of hours during general meeting. - Brothers are held accountable for the amount of service hours decided on for the semester. - Refer to the Academic Policy if a Brother cannot commit to their requirement. - The amount of required service hours can be changed in the middle of the semester if deemed necessary by the Brotherhood. - The service chair shall meet with the committee to discuss a new amount of required service hours. - The service chair shall propose the revised amount of required service hours at the next general meeting. - The Brotherhood will vote in the revised amount of hours during General Meeting. ==== Section 2. Organizing Events ==== - New or Uncommon Events. - Present idea and gauge interest. - Arrange with relevant authorities and stakeholders. Establish lines of communications to points of contact. - Set a time, date, and location. - Put event on the Zeta calendar. - Hold sign-ups during general meetings. - Rozsa Events. - Zeta Chapter does not plan these. Service opportunities are offered by the Rozsa Front of House Manager. - Lists of those who have signed up for each event are given to the Rozsa Front of House Manager, as far in advance as possible. - Brother’s who must cancel are to inform both the Service Chair(s) and the Rozsa Front of House Manager. - Brothers are to wear the Rozsa polos and magnetic badges stored in the Rozsa locker. - For further detail, look to the service handbook. - Pep Band Camp Dinner, Ushering at Rozsa/McArdle, Music Ensemble Receptions, Pep Band Truck Unloading, Make A Difference Day, Adopt a Highway, and Dinner and a Movie are all described here. ===== Article III - Committee Resources ===== ==== Section 1. Rozsa Locker ==== - Zeta Chapter has a locker on the second floor of Walker, # 151. - The code is available to all Brothers on request. - The Ushering Shirts and Magnetic Badges are stored here between events. - Personal items may be stored by Brothers during events.
