Amendment Log

Special Active Status

  1. Purpose of this Amendment
    1. This document aims to amend Article Ⅱ, Section 3 of the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi in order to implement a new status for Brothers of this Chapter, called Special Active Status.
    2. Approval of this document will not affect any other part of the By-Laws.
  2. The motion to implement this status in Tau Chapter for the Fall 2016 semester was passed unanimously by the Executive Committee on August 16, 2016 and was passed unanimously by the Chapter on September 4, 2016.

Pronoun Change

  1. Purpose of this Amendment
    1. This document aims to amend Article Ⅱ, Section 5 and Article VII, Section 3, Section 4, and Section 5 of the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi in order to provide inclusion for Brothers of any and all genders by changing all pronouns to they/them/theirs.
    2. Approval of this document will not alter the functionality of any By-Laws.
  2. The motion to implement this change was passed unanimously by the Chapter on November 4, 2018.

Changing New Member Education Terminology

  1. Purpose of this Amendment
    1. This document seeks to amend all applicable locations in the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi which concern the terminology of the New Member Education process in order to add new language reflecting the terminology approved in compliance with the Resolution on Changing Terminology passed at the Pi Chapter-held Convention in March 2020.
    2. Approval of this document will not alter the functionality of any By-Laws.
  2. The motion to implement this change was passed by the chapter on April 26, 2020.

Officially Recognizing Service Chair and Webmaster as Officers

  1. Purpose of this Amendment
    1. This document amends Article III, Section 1, Article 3, Section 4, and Article IV, Section 6 the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi which establish the officer positions of Service Chair and Webmaster
  2. The motion to implement these changes, in compliance with the Recognition of Service Chair Act, was amended and passed unanimously by the chapter on February 20, 2022.

Amendment to Amend Open Rush Policy

- Purpose of this Amendment

  1. This document inserts Article III, Section 4, subsubsection 1.7.3 after Article III, Section 4, subsubsection 1.7.2 of the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi which add one music event to the open rush process
  1. The motion to implement these changes, in compliance with the Act to Amend Open Rush Requirements, was amended and passed with 2/3 majority by the chapter on April 10, 2022.

Amendment to Amend Attendance Policy

- Purpose of this Amendment

  1. This document removes Article V, Section 6, subsubsection 1.6.1 and This document removes Article V, Section 6, subsubsection 1.6.2, and replaces Article III Section 4 subsection 1.3 subsubsection 1.3.4 of the By-Laws of Tau Chapter of Mu Beta Psi which remove attendance penalties, and make secretary responsible for checking in on members who have more than 3 unexcused absences
  1. The motion to implement these changes, in compliance with the Act to Amend Open Rush Requirements, was amended and passed with unanimous approval by the chapter on April 10, 2022.
