1. The Chair(s) is expected to have read the Chapter By-Laws.

   1. They should be able to explain the By-Laws to others and make sure that the Chapter follows its rules.

1. The Chair is required to upload and update policies onto the National Policy website as they change.

   1. Only the Chair and NITC have access on the website.

1. A policy is a document that reflects the expectations and responsibilities of a particular process or system. This outlines what is done in the present for posterity.
2. The committee is to write and update policies for E-Board, Chapter committees, the election process, annual events, and any other significant processes or systems.

   1. Prioritize writing policies that do not exist over non-major updates on other policies.
3. Policies must be voted in by the Chapter with a simple majority.
4. When amendments are made to policies and bylaws, they are recorded in the Amendment Log.

1. Bylaws are the rules that we have created for ourselves that we must adhere to.
2. The committee is to know the Bylaws and their purposes. If those purposes no longer align with the Brotherhood’s, they are to propose amendments.
3. Amendments to the Bylaws require ⅔ of the active Brotherhood voting in favor to be adopted.

1. Policy Maintenance has a Trello Board to organize the policies that they are working on.
2. Policy Maintenance has a guidebook.
